LBC is popular for assessing non-gynaecologic and gynecologic specimens. This study compared LBC with conventional smears for breast lesion assessment. Differences were observed in background features, but not in cell details or architecture. LBC has the potential for reducing slide numbers and turnaround time in cytology.
