How to interpret the Triple Marker Test results 

The triple marker test also uses an NT scan which utilizes ultrasound technology, which together with the biochemical tests allows doctors to perform a risk assessment of chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome that may exist in the developing fetus. 

Females that have a risk assessment of 1:250 of trisomy are considered to be screen-positive, with further confirmatory testing required. Risk assessment can be divided into low, intermediate and high risk for trisomy.
