Sterling Accuris Diagnostics offers P24 Antigen Test in Mahuva to detect the presence of HIV antigen known as p24. High levels of p24 are found in blood serum shortly after infection and before seroconversion. Therefore, p24 antigen assays are essential in primary HIV infection diagnosis.
Overview of the P24 Antigen Test
The antigen test is a method used to examine your blood for the presence of an HIV antigen known as p24. Typically, for individuals that have recently contracted the virus, the amount of p24 in their blood is considerably high before their body starts producing antibodies to the pathogen. About eleven days to a month after infection, the p24 antigen test provides an accurate diagnosis. However, this single test is generally not enough to detect HIV infection and hence should be used alongside other tests. This test also helps early identification of HIV infection in newborn babies and in rape cases.
Book a P24 Antigen Test near you for diagnosing primary HIV infection. Sterling Accuris offers a reliable P24 Antigen Test in Mahuva with timely reports.

How to interpret P24 Antigen Test Reports?
Test results for the HIV P24 Antigen test are reported as Reactive or Non-Reactive based on the calculated cut-off value.
Negative:
If reactive in the first test, the test is repeated using the same sample. The second result comes out as nonreactive, or if the initial result is reactive but both replicates on repeat testing are found to be nonreactive, the sample is labeled as negative.
Positive:
If at least 2 results are repeatedly reactive and the sample is presumptive for having to show p24 antigen in the sample then it must be confirmed using the neutralisation assay. If the neutralisation assay shows the test sample reactive both time, the result is said to be positive for that sample.
